Meals on Wheels of McPherson Welcomes New Director

Meals on Wheels of McPherson, Kansas, Inc. has named Shani Stewart as its new director, the organization's board of directors announced Sunday.

Stewart comes to the role after spending more than five years as a supervisor for a presentence investigation team with Court Services, where she managed complex caseloads and led a team of investigators. She holds an academic background in sociology and social services with an emphasis in criminal justice.

The new director is no stranger to working with community partners. Throughout her career, Stewart has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability — skills she plans to bring to Meals on Wheels as she works to strengthen the organization's community partnerships and ensure clients receive consistent, dignified support.

Stewart recently relocated from Overland Park to McPherson to be closer to family and return to her husband's hometown. She said she welcomes the chance to trade the fast-paced Kansas City metro lifestyle for a smaller community where she can make a direct impact.

Outside of work, Stewart enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities.
