McPherson YMCA Summer Adventure Camp

Fun, adventure, and weekly themes all summer long

Summer Adventure Camp takes place at Lincoln Elementary School from May 26 through August 7. Campers enjoy arts and crafts, sports, games, and more with weekly themes including Summer Kick Off, Western Wonders, and Into the Wild. Register for one week, two weeks, or the entire summer at ymcawichita.org/camp or inside the McPherson YMCA branch.

YMCA Summer Break Camp Days

Early access to summer fun before camp officially begins

Break Camp bridges the gap between the end of school and the start of summer camp. McPherson YMCA (Lincoln Elementary School) dates are May 18–21. Camp Hiawatha dates are May 18–22 and August 10–14. Enroll for individual days or the entire week. Open to members ($33/child/day) and non-members ($39/child/day). Register at ymcawichita.org/breakcamps.

FYR Mac-Town — Free Youth CrossFit

Free CrossFit classes for kids and teens in McPherson County year-round

FYR Mac-Town is providing free CrossFit classes to youth in McPherson County. Kids ages 6–11 meet Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:15–5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9–10 a.m. Teens ages 12–18 meet Monday through Thursday from 6:30–7:30 p.m. Located at Mac-Town Fitness Company, 715 W. Woodside St., McPherson, KS 67460.

McPherson Swim Club — 7th Annual Beginners Camp

A 10-day intro camp for new swim families at the McPherson Water Park

The McPherson Swim Club hosts its 7th annual Beginners Camp June 1–5 and June 8–12 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the McPherson Water Park. Cost is $50 and includes a t-shirt. This camp is designed for new swim families or swimmers interested in joining the team. Camp must be completed before joining the swim team, and swimmers who are ready at the end of camp can transition to the team with a discount on summer fees. McPherson Bullpup Basketball Camp

Learning to play the Bullpup way — boys and girls PreK through 6th grade

Players will improve their basketball skills in a fun, positive environment through skill-building stations and game situations. Skills taught include proper shooting form, ball-handling, moving without the basketball, defensive positioning, and offensive spacing. Beginners will focus on rules of basketball and eight-foot goals. Camp runs May 20–22 at the McPherson High School Auxiliary Gym (enter through the Aux. Gym doors in the west parking lot). PreK–2nd grade meets 9:00–10:00 a.m.; 3rd–6th grade meets 10:15–11:30 a.m. Cost is $50 and includes a t-shirt if registration is received by May 11. Learn, compete, and have fun on the court — PreK through 12th grade

Mac Advantage Tennis Camp runs May 26–29 and includes a t-shirt. Pricing by age group: Pee-Wee (ages 4–6) $30, Red Ball (ages 6–8) $60, Orange Ball (ages 8–10) $120, Middle School $120, and High School $140. Register via the QR code on the flyer or at https://macadvantagetennis.wixsite.com/home

Mac Advantage Summer Group Tennis Lessons

Summer-long tennis instruction for all ages at Wall Park — scholarships available

Group lessons run June 1 through July 24 at Wall Park. Pee-Wee (ages 4–6) meets Mon/Wed/Fri 8:00–9:00 a.m., June 1–26. Red Ball (ages 6–8) meets Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00–10:00 a.m., June 1–26, with a second session Mon/Wed/Fri 8:00–9:00 a.m., July 6–24. Orange Ball (ages 9–10) meets Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00–10:00 a.m., June 1–July 24. Middle School (6th–8th grade) meets Tues/Thurs 8:00–10:00 a.m. with Wednesday match play 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., June 2–July 24. High School (9th–12th grade) meets Tues/Thurs 8:00–10:00 a.m. with Friday match play 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., June 2–July 24. Scholarships are available for all age groups.
