McPherson Youth Basketball Tryouts Set for September
Lady Pups and Jr Pups programs welcome new and returning players
McPherson youth basketball programs will hold tryouts for Lady Pups and Jr Pups players on Sunday, September 7 and Sunday, September 14 at the McPherson Community Building. Organizers emphasize that the goal is to get as many youth playing as possible, encouraging new players who haven't participated before to attend alongside returning athletes. Several age groups had sufficient numbers last year to field multiple teams, demonstrating the program's growth and inclusivity.
The tryout schedule spans both Sundays with specific times for each age group and gender. September 7 will feature girls' tryouts from 4-6 p.m. for grades 2-5, with a boys' makeup session at 3 p.m. September 14 focuses on boys' tryouts from 2-5 p.m. for grades 2-6, concluding with a girls' makeup session from 6-6:30 p.m. No advance registration is required, and registration forms will be available at the Community Building on tryout days.
