McPherson Volleyball Teams Sweep Doubleheader
Varsity rallies past Circle while JV dominates both opponents in triangular action
Both McPherson volleyball teams secured victories against Augusta and Circle in triangular action, with the varsity squad showing resilience in a thrilling three-set comeback win over Circle. The varsity Bullpups opened with a dominant 25-12, 25-15 victory over Augusta before facing a stern test from Circle, dropping the first set 20-25 before rallying to win 25-18, 25-23 in a hard-fought match.
Ava Romero led the offensive charge with 20 kills while also contributing 19 digs and two aces in an outstanding all-around performance. Brooke Doile added 19 kills and 15 digs, while Elley Paulsen chipped in 15 kills and one block. Senior setter Rylie Whitfield orchestrated the offense with 54 assists, and Adelyn Barrow anchored the back row with 16 digs while serving four aces. Kynslie Minns provided defensive presence at the net with two blocks. The JV team also swept both opponents, defeating Augusta 25-9, 25-17 before overcoming Circle in three sets 25-16, 15-25, 15-8, showcasing the program's depth and continued development across all levels.
