McPherson Volleyball Sweeps Eldorado Triangular with Commanding Wins

The McPherson varsity volleyball team posted a perfect evening at the Eldorado triangular Tuesday, dispatching the host Wildcats 25-11, 25-12 before rallying from a first-set deficit to defeat Circle 15-25, 25-13, 25-17. The Bullpups showcased their offensive firepower and defensive tenacity throughout both matches, with junior Ava Romero leading the way with a stellar all-around performance.

Romero paced the McPherson attack with 17 kills while anchoring the defense with a team-high 21 digs and three blocks. Brooke Doile added 16 kills to keep opposing defenses honest, while setter Rylie Whitfield orchestrated the offense with 43 assists and contributed 10 digs defensively. After dropping the opening set to Circle, the Bullpups regrouped and dominated the final two sets, with Elley Paulsen contributing nine kills and matching Adelyn Barrow and Carmin Pavlovich with three aces each. The balanced serving attack and strong net play from Paulsen and Pavlovich, who each added two blocks, proved too much for both opponents as McPherson continued their strong season with the road sweep.
