McPherson Swimmers Compete at Andover Invite
200 freestyle relay secures state consideration time; Bullpups place 11th of 15 teams
The McPherson High School boys swim team competed against some of the state's best swimmers at the Andover Invite on Saturday, finishing 11th out of 15 teams in the highly competitive meet that featured many of Wichita's top club swimmers.
The highlight of the day came when the 200 freestyle relay team of Bohme, Bowen, Bocox, and B. Schuckman secured another state consideration time with a 10th-place finish in 1:44.64. The 400 freestyle relay of Bocox, T. Schuckman, Mendez, and Morales placed 8th, while the 200 medley relay of Gaspar, B. Schuckman, Bohme, and Bowen finished 11th.
Individual standouts included Bohme with an 11th-place finish in the 200 IM and 9th in the 100 backstroke, Mendez placing 13th in the 100 butterfly, Bocox finishing 14th in the 500 freestyle, Gaspar taking 12th in the 100 backstroke, and B. Schuckman placing 16th in the 200 IM.
