McPherson, KS- Weather permitting, an asphalt overlay process will begin September 2 in the Sycamore Subdivision and last approximately six days, marking one of the final stages of the area's street reconstruction. APAC Kansas will perform the work, and residents are asked not to park on streets between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the project, with driveway access potentially obstructed temporarily. Meanwhile, the mill and overlay process on North Maxwell Street from First Street to Northview Avenue is complete except for permanent striping, which will be coordinated later.

Several other major street projects remain in progress throughout the city. Vogts-Parga is working in the third block of the Myers Street reconstruction project, with the first block complete and the second block awaiting overlay in fall 2026. The City Street Department continues reconstruction of the 1100 block of North Elm Street despite recent rain, with the north half ready for asphalt millings. On west First Street, Kansas Paving has begun repairs and mill and overlay work from Hospital Drive to the Highway 81 bypass, condensing traffic to two lanes for the project's duration.
