A Team improves to 9-1 with two victories while B Team falls in close contests

McPherson Seventh Grade Volleyball Splits at Circle Triangular

The McPherson seventh grade A Team continued their strong season with victories over Circle Middle School (28-26, 25-11) and Mulvane Middle School (25-17, 22-25, 15-6) to improve to 9-1 on the season. Leah Jackson and Elin Schmidt provided crucial hustle plays throughout both matches, while Rhett Banning, Lucy Redden and Hayden Vogelsberg delivered strong serving streaks. Defensively, Hayden Allen, Cayson Harlin, Schmidt and Redden recorded key digs, with Cali Melton and Redden anchoring the net defense.

The seventh grade B Team battled competitively but fell in both contests, losing to Circle (18-25, 25-20, 9-15) and Mulvane (25-23, 20-25, 11-15) to move to 5-5 overall. Despite the losses, coach Abby Bradstreet praised the team's tenacity and grit throughout the evening. Kayleigh Dilli, Auri Perryman, Emrie Wyssman and Macie Reinwald each served effectively, while Reese Kramer and Perryman made clutch plays at the net. The A Team travels to Winfield Middle School on Monday, September 29, while the B Team competes in a tournament in Hutchinson on Saturday, September 27.
