McPherson Public Schools Hosts Bond Information Sessions Ahead of March Vote
Five-station format allowed residents to hear from architects, administrators on proposed projects
MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Public Schools held two public information sessions during the week of Feb. 2 to field community questions about an upcoming bond issue. The sessions featured five stations staffed by district leaders and experts, covering topics including draft site plans and renderings presented by Duane Cash and Ashley Markley of Incite Design Studios, a financial overview from Superintendent Shiloh Vincent on the bond's tax impact and the district's budget shortfall cycle, and a preventive maintenance plan outlined by Director of Operations Bill Frose.
Additional stations addressed the bond's educational impact, with Director of Curriculum and Instruction Brandi Martinez-McWilliams, building principals Inge Esping and Audrey Herbst, and McPherson High School Assistant Principal Alex Specht discussing how facilities affect education and career and technical education programs. Assistant principals Todd Beam and Melissa Beede also led tours of the middle school and high school. Documents from each station are available on the district's website.
