McPherson Public Schools Bond Vote Set for March 3

Two-question ballot proposal aims to modernize facilities and support student success

McPherson Public Schools Bond Vote Set for March 3

Voters will decide the future of McPherson Public Schools facilities on March 3, 2026, when they head to the polls to consider a two-question bond proposal designed to address aging infrastructure and modernize learning environments across the district.

The bond vote is structured as two interconnected questions that together form a comprehensive plan to support strong schools and inspired students throughout the community.

Question 1 focuses on the district's highest priorities, primarily renovating and renewing McPherson High School at its current site. These updates address aging facilities and ensure safe, modern learning spaces for students. This question represents the foundation of the district's long-term facilities plan.

Question 2 builds on that foundation by addressing additional critical needs throughout the district. This includes updates to transform the Eisenhower site into the future McPherson Middle School, updates to modernize the elementary schools, and enhancements at McPherson High School to add restrooms, concessions, and bleachers to the field.

The two questions are designed to work together, with Question 1 serving as the prerequisite for Question 2. Question 1 must pass for Question 2 to move forward. Together, the questions create a long-term plan designed around what is best for students and the future of McPherson.

District officials say the proposed improvements are necessary to maintain competitive, modern facilities that can meet the educational needs of current and future students. The plan addresses safety concerns, updates aging infrastructure, and provides facilities that support contemporary teaching methods and student activities.

Voters will have the opportunity to vote on each question separately, allowing the community to determine which priorities they wish to support. However, the district emphasizes that the two questions are part of a unified vision for the future of McPherson Public Schools.

For more information about the bond proposal, including detailed plans for each facility and answers to frequently asked questions, community members are encouraged to visit the district's website at https://www.mcpherson.com/apps/pages/March2026Bond.

The bond election will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Polling locations and hours will be announced closer to the election date.
