McPherson prepares for America's 250th birthday with two days of celebrations
Annual extravaganza features live music, outdoor movie and fireworks
MCPHERSON, Kan. — Residents will celebrate the nation's 250th birthday with a two-day festival culminating in the annual Fourth of July Extravaganza at Wall Park. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. on July 3 at the Lakeside Park Bandshell with a concert by the Intrepid Brass Band, followed by a 9 p.m. screening of the 1976 film "Rocky". The Independence Day events will conclude July 4 with a community fireworks display sponsored by the local CHS Refinery.
