McPherson Planning Commission to hear Central Christian College rezoning request
Proposed change would transition 33 properties to a Planned Unit District
McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on June 2 to consider a sweeping rezoning application from Central Christian College of Kansas, with community members invited to provide testimony before the commission issues a formal recommendation to the City Commission. The college, represented by applicants Tom Staffel and Doug Vanderhoof, is proposing to change the zoning classification for 33 properties — primarily located along South Walnut and South Maple streets — from an office business district to a Planned Unit District, with the new PUD designation underlain by office business, neighborhood business, two-family residential and multifamily districts. The hearing will take place in the Commission Room of the Municipal Center, 400 E. Kansas Ave.
