McPherson Middle School Tennis Dominates Prairie Hills
Squad shows mental toughness and depth in convincing 19-3 victory

The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team delivered an impressive performance against Prairie Hills on September 11, overcoming warmer and breezier conditions to secure a convincing 19-3 victory. The Bullpups swept the singles competition with dominant displays across the board, while showcasing their mental toughness by shaking off bad points and maintaining consistent high-level play throughout the match.
The depth of the McPherson program was on full display during doubles action, where the team dominated their first six traditional dual format matches. In extra doubles competition, Madison Pollman and Mabel Jones pulled off an outstanding victory as a doubles team, while Elsie Walters and Karsen Greer came close to a major upset, pushing Prairie Hills' #2 doubles team to the brink. "I was extremely happy with our level of play today," said coach Henry Weiner. The team now prepares for a busy week ahead with a competitive tournament Monday for the top nine players, followed by a dual against Wichita Collegiate on Tuesday.
