McPherson JV Tennis Dominates League Tournament with Perfect Sweep
Bullpups capture team title and finish 1-2 in both singles and doubles to cap remarkable 65-4 season

The McPherson High School JV tennis team delivered a commanding performance at the JV League tournament in Buhler, claiming the team championship with 68 points while finishing 1-2 in both singles and doubles divisions. The Bullpups easily outdistanced second-place Wichita Collegiate (47 points), with Buhler and Wellington tied for third at 34 points each. Ava Miller capped her outstanding day with a perfect 4-0 record to claim first place in singles, while teammate McKenna Paul earned second place at 3-1. The doubles dominance continued with Audra Sandbo and Sadie Krug going undefeated (4-0) for first place, and Brenna Sullivan and Piper VanCampen taking second with a 3-1 record.
Head coach Ricardo Sanchez was thrilled with his team's depth and execution in the season finale. "Today was a prime example of how deep our entire team is," Sanchez said. "Our girls showed up and finished 1-2 in singles and 1-2 in doubles!" The coach praised Miller's aggressive shot-making improvement throughout the day, Paul's relentless hustle, and both doubles teams' complementary play styles. The tournament performance capped an exceptional season for the six-player JV squad, who combined for an impressive 65-4 record with their only four losses coming against each other in practice matches. "It was a fun season, that's for sure!" Sanchez concluded.
