McPherson JV Tennis Dominates Home Tournament
Bullpups win team title behind exceptional depth and individual champions

The McPherson Bullpups JV tennis teams captured the team championship at their home tournament, with McPherson Red scoring 38 points to outdistance runner-up Hesston (28) and Great Bend (26). Perfect tennis conditions with temperatures in the 70s and overcast skies provided the backdrop for the Bullpups' largest JV tournament of the season, featuring nearly full brackets with 10 entries in No. 2 Doubles and nine entries in every other division. McPherson Red dominated individual competition, with Ava Miller (No. 1 Singles) and Maddie Ekholm (No. 2 Singles) both going undefeated at 5-0 to claim individual titles. The doubles tandem of Emily Reo and Hayden Eveland also finished 5-0 to win the No. 2 Doubles championship, while Audra Sandbo and Sadie Krug took second in No. 1 Doubles with a 4-1 record.
The tournament showcased the exceptional depth of the McPherson program, as the Bullpups were able to enter 14 players in the round-robin format—a rarity in JV tennis where most teams travel with six. McPherson White finished fourth overall with 24 points, highlighted by the No. 1 Doubles championship from Piper VanCampen and Brenna Sullivan, who went undefeated. More than half of the Bullpup entries finished as champions or runners-up in their divisions. "This tournament really tested endurance, and our girls answered the call," said Coach Brown. "We can't mention everyone by name, but our team was amazing today." The strong JV performance gives several players valuable match experience as many prepare for the home varsity meet on Thursday.
