McPherson Football Defeats Circle 34-17
Bullpups outscore Thunderbirds 20-0 in second half

The McPherson Bullpups overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Circle 34-17 Friday night, powered by a dominant second-half performance and sophomore Brody Milleson's breakout rushing display.
Trailing 17-14 at the break, McPherson completely flipped the script in the final two quarters, shutting out Circle while scoring 20 unanswered points to pull away for the victory. The Bullpups outscored the Thunderbirds 6-0 in the third quarter before exploding for 14 points in the fourth to seal the win.
Milleson carried the offensive load for McPherson, rushing for 200 yards and two touchdowns on just 17 carries, averaging an impressive 11.7 yards per attempt. The sophomore's performance provided the ground game consistency that allowed the Bullpups to control the second half.
The opening half featured back-and-forth action, with McPherson scoring first in the opening quarter before Circle answered with 17 points across the first two periods. However, the Thunderbirds were held scoreless after halftime as McPherson's defense tightened and the running game took control.
The victory improves McPherson to 1-1 on the season, while Circle drops to an identical 1-1 record after suffering their first loss of the campaign. The Bullpups' ability to make significant halftime adjustments and dominate the ground game in the second half demonstrated their potential as they continue building momentum for the remainder of the season.
McPherson will host their home opener Friday, September 19 against undefeated Chanute, who enters the contest with a 2-0 record and will provide another strong test for the improving Bullpups.
