McPherson Eighth Grade Volleyball Teams Sweep Mulvane Triangular
Both squads remain unbeaten with hard-fought victories over Mulvane and Circle
The McPherson Middle School eighth grade volleyball teams continued their impressive seasons Monday night at Mulvane, with both the A and B teams sweeping their triangular matches against the host Eagles and Circle. The A team improved to a perfect 10-0 record with nail-biting three-set victories over Mulvane (25-21, 20-25, 15-11) and Circle (25-14, 24-26, 15-9), while the B team dominated both opponents in straight sets to move to 9-1 overall.
The A team overcame early struggles with serve receive and communication, frequently battling back from deficits before finding their rhythm in the later sets. Elles Pavlovich delivered a stellar performance with numerous kills and aces while excelling in serve receive, and Kinsley Postier anchored the net attack with strong hitting from multiple positions and four blocks. The B team controlled their matches from start to finish, defeating Mulvane 25-7, 25-7 before rallying from a six-point deficit to edge Circle 25-18, 26-24. Both teams travel to Clearwater Middle School next Monday, September 29, for a triangular against Clearwater and Winfield as they continue their pursuit of undefeated league campaigns.
