McPherson Cross Country Competes Strong at Buhler Meet
Boys finish fourth with individual champion, girls place fifth with two medalists

The McPherson High School cross country teams delivered solid performances at the Buhler meet, with the boys claiming fourth place and the girls finishing fifth despite competing on a short recovery week following heavy training.
Senior Caleb Muehler led the way for the Bullpups, capturing the individual championship with a winning time of 16:29. Fellow senior Tripp Pelzel also earned a medal, finishing 18th in 17:50 to help secure the boys' fourth-place team finish.
The boys varsity was rounded out by Kayden Friesen (21st, 18:01), Nathan Friesen (41st, 19:12), Jonas Emery (50th, 19:35), Isaiah Ortiz (70th, 20:55), and Drake Timson (73rd, 21:03).
The girls team was paced by two medalists, with Kamryn Prescott placing eighth in 21:15 and Adeline Kramer finishing 10th in 21:27. Reesa Whorton (22nd, 22:44) and Eliza Jex (23rd, 23:03) provided strong support, while Lindley Jex completed the varsity scoring with a 74th-place finish in 28:25.
The boys JV squad also competed, led by Miles Bauer's 33rd-place finish in 22:15. Charlie Unruh (53rd, 23:30), Tyler Ek (54th, 23:33), John Conard (72nd, 25:01), Maxton Nelson (73rd, 25:11), and Jonah Foster (74th, 25:15) rounded out the junior varsity results.
