McPherson County officials to coordinate office relocations, review $560,000 federal roadway safety grant
Prairie View 2027 budget, Galva milling expenses also on Monday's agenda
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The newly renovated McPherson County Building will soon welcome its first official occupants, as County Clerk Hollie Melroy and County Treasurer Cassie Anderson prepare to brief the Board of McPherson County Commissioners on Monday about their departments' relocation. Following a June 5 ribbon-cutting for the modernized facility, the moves will centralize key public services and free up space in the courthouse. During the same meeting, commissioners will review a $560,000 U.S. Department of Transportation grant agreement under the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All program, which will fund a comprehensive safety action plan for rural roadways across the county.
During the morning session at the county's Public Works facility, the three-member commission also is slated to hear a 2027 budget presentation from Prairie View and evaluate additional street milling expenses for the city of Galva. The agenda also includes a request from Planning, Zoning and Environment Administrator Jon Kinsey to amend a conditional use permit, and multiple personnel discussions led by corrections officials.
