McPherson College undergrads can fast-track Wichita State MBA degrees

MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson College students looking to jump-start their graduate education will soon be able to earn credit toward a Master of Business Administration at Wichita State University before finishing their undergraduate degrees.

Starting in fall 2026, eligible undergraduates can take up to three MBA courses — nine credit hours — through a newly announced partnership with Wichita State's W. Frank Barton School of Business. The accelerated pathway is designed to reduce the time and cost required to complete a graduate business degree.

"This partnership empowers McPherson students to begin their MBA journey early — reducing time and cost while accelerating both their academic progress and career trajectories," Barton School Dean Larisa Genin said.

Leaders from both institutions described the agreement as a tool to bolster regional workforce development across Kansas by moving graduates more efficiently into leadership roles. Wichita State President Rick Muma said the program expands access to high-quality education, while McPherson College President Michael Schneider said the pathway maintains the rigorous academic standards of both schools.

To participate, McPherson undergraduates must meet specific academic requirements. Graduate credits earned during their undergraduate years will automatically apply toward Wichita State's MBA program upon formal admission.
