Treg Fawl, citizen journal's McPherson sports reporter and local influencer, has been welcomed as the newest Ambassador for the McPherson Chamber of Commerce. He's also a loan officer at Farmers State Bank. A graduate of McPherson High School and Central Christian College, Fawl is deeply involved in the community, serving as the MHS Girls Golf Coach, and a United Way Allocations Committee member. Fawl, who resides in McPherson with his wife Molli and three children, views his new role and Chamber membership as a vital opportunity for networking and continues to dedicate himself to helping the community he loves.

Chamber Launches Afternoon Networking Event at Farmers Alliance

The McPherson Chamber of Commerce is introducing "Connect More @ 4," a new quarterly afternoon networking event designed to offer professionals a connection point at the end of the workday. The inaugural gathering is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Farmers Alliance on North Main Street, where the host team will provide refreshments, tours of their facility, and a brief program at 4:15 p.m. outlining the company’s values and operations.

Photography Students Offer Headshots to Fund Conference Trip

In partnership with the upcoming Chamber event, McPherson College photography students will offer professional profile photos to the public on Feb. 19 to raise funds for their attendance at the National Photographic Conference in Atlanta. Attendees can choose from various backgrounds and package options ranging from $40 for one edited photo to $100 for five, with walk-ins welcome and payment accepted via cash or digital apps.

Prairie View Adopts New Care Model to Enhance Mental Health Services

Prairie View, a mental health organization with a location in McPherson, is transitioning to a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model to improve accessibility and care coordination. Patrick Flaming, Chief Access & Crisis Officer, reported that the organization served over 1,200 new individuals last year, with 33 percent of those clients being residents of McPherson County, reinforcing their commitment to the state-encouraged transition for better behavioral health coverage.

Gala to Support Mental Health Initiatives Across Counties

Prairie View will host its "Denim & Diamonds Gala & Auction" on Saturday, March 21, at the Wild Prairie Event Center in Newton to raise funds for rural mental health initiatives, including AgAssist and school-based services. The evening will feature entertainment by comedian Jeremy Nunes and live music from Hot Club KC, alongside a silent auction that includes items such as St. Louis Cardinals tickets and a Las Vegas vacation package.
