Grain Craft McPherson highlights wheat sourcing, packaging and K-State partnership
As the wheat harvest approaches, Grain Craft's Clint Church shared insights into the McPherson facility's operations, noting that 99% of its wheat is sourced within a 200-mile radius, with South Dakota being the furthest state from which it buys. The McPherson site is a major packaging hub, supplying store-brand flour for Walmart, Dillons (Kroger) and Aldi, and boasts a high-speed receiving pit that unloads a semi-truck of wheat in just six minutes. With more than 100 years of history, the nation’s third-largest wheat flour miller ships as far as Alaska and produces a variety of flours, projecting its tortilla flour to be the company's fastest-growing market in the United States by 2026. Church also highlighted Grain Craft's strong partnership with Kansas State University, which includes a robust summer internship program and the frequent hiring of Kansas State Milling Program graduates.
