McPherson City Commission approves $13,904 change order for paving project
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson City Commission unanimously approved a $13,904.10 change order with Kansas Paving for the city's mill and overlay project. McPherson Public Works officials explained the funding increase was necessary due to additional patching required after milling out certain street areas. The final cost adjustment also accounted for deductions related to lower overall overlay quantities and the delay of the Hay Street paving project.
Final asphalt for Hay Street paving pushed to next year
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The final asphalt overlay for the Hay Street project will be delayed until next year, McPherson Public Works officials announced. Crews have laid down temporary asphalt millings to secure the block east of Hickory Street for the winter. Officials noted the delay was necessary because the project's timeline did not align with the city's recent mill and overlay work.
Hickory Street reconstruction moves northward
MCPHERSON, Kan. — Contractors have completed the curb and gutter work on the Hay Street portion of the Hickory Street project and have shifted operations further north. McPherson Public Works officials presented photos of the progress at the latest McPherson City Commission meeting, noting crews are actively tearing up the next section of Hickory Street to prepare for continued reconstruction.
