Kansas Foodpreneur Boot Camp Returns for Six-Week Online Session

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Kansas Foodpreneur Bootcamp, a six-week online program for new and aspiring food business owners, will run from the week of July 16 through the week of Aug. 27, the Chamber announced as a Network Kansas partner. The course offers eight on-demand modules and weekly Thursday Zoom sessions at 5:30 p.m. with coaches from the Online Restaurant Academy. Enrollment is $99, with a $75 early-bird rate for those who register before July 1.

McPherson Wastewater Plant Completes 30-Year Master Plan

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The City of McPherson's Wastewater Treatment Facility on Treatment Plant Road recently hosted a Chamber Connections tour and detailed a newly completed master plan guiding the next 30 years. Public Works Director Eric Duerksen said the study confirmed the current site as the best location and found its licensed capacity of 2 million gallons per day sufficient for future growth, with room to expand. Superintendent Mike Wagner, a 36-year city employee, noted the plant has operated at the site since 1931 and in 1990 became the first municipal facility in Kansas to use Sequencing Batch Reactor technology. The plant, staffed by seven employees, treats water that is reused on-site, irrigates Turkey Creek Golf Course and supplies CHS Refinery.

Harmony Christian Church Hosts Vacation Bible School

Library Screens 'Night at the Museum'

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Public Library, 214 W. Marlin, will show "Night at the Museum" at 1 p.m. June 25. Popcorn and water are provided, and attendees may bring their own candy, blanket or pillow. Registration is required and all ages are welcome.

Fire Department Plans 'Fireworks With a Fireman'

MCPHERSON, Kan. — Hopp's, 214 E. Euclid, will host "Fireworks With a Fireman" from 5 to 9 p.m. June 26, featuring a live fireworks safety demonstration led by the McPherson Fire Department. The event includes a bounce house, kiddie carwash, food trucks and live music by Sam Unruh from 6 to 8 p.m.

Water Park Hosts Family Night and Food Drive

MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Water Park, 511 N. Lakeside Drive, will hold a family night and food drive from 5 to 8 p.m. June 26, with admission of $10 per family of up to five. The park is collecting non-perishable food donations for local families in need through the week beginning June 22.

The Cedars Hosts Free 'Dolphin Tale' Screening

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Cedars Wellness Center, 1021 Cedars Drive, will show "Dolphin Tale" at 7 p.m. June 26 as part of the 2026 Movie Mania series. The free event, sponsored by The Cedars and the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, includes snacks from McPherson Pizza Ranch and an activity.

Community Theatre Stages 'Willy Wonka'

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Community Theatre will present Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka" June 26-28 at the McPherson Opera House, 219 S. Main. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. Tickets are available on the theater's website.

McPherson College Holds Bulldog Athletic Banquet

Brass Concert and Outdoor Movie Set for July 3

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Lakeside Bandshell, 511 N. McPherson County 4-H Fair Opens July 20

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson County 4-H Fair opens July 20 with Fashion Review judging at the K-State Research & Extension office, 600 W. Woodside, followed by a week of judging and exhibits. Categories range from livestock to interior design, electronics and plant science. A full schedule is available through the Extension office.

St. Joseph Catholic School Opens Pre-K Enrollment

MCPHERSON, Kan. — St. Joseph Catholic School, 520 E. Northview Ave., is enrolling 4- and 5-year-olds in its Pre-K program for the 2026-27 school year. Classes meet three days per week from noon to 3 p.m., and Catholic affiliation is not required. Three more students are needed to offer the class; parents can call 620-241-3913.

Icon Structures Awarded USD 418 Bond Work

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson USD 418 Board approved an agreement with Icon Structures Inc. of Wichita for summer improvement projects at the district's elementary schools. The work must be completed before the 2026-27 school year as the district consolidates from four elementary buildings to three.

MCPHERSON, Kan. — Nearly 200 young anglers registered for the 19th Annual Youth Fishing Derby, a Father's Day weekend tradition organized by the McPherson Park Department, 607 W. First. MKC Hosts Ukrainian Agronomy Professionals

MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — Mid Kansas Cooperative recently hosted 40 Ukrainian agronomy professionals traveling with Travelite Agro at its Groveland location, leading a facility tour and discussion of cover cropping and soil management. The Regehr family of Inman also welcomed the group to their farm as part of the visit.
