McPherson Center for Health to Host "Shredding the Silence" Event on Menopause
Documentary screening, panel discussion aim to encourage open conversation on women's health topic
McPherson Center for Health, in partnership with the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, is inviting the community to an evening of education and conversation with "Shredding the Silence on Menopause" on Saturday, January 31 at the McPherson Opera House, 219 S Main St. The event centers around a screening of "The M Factor," a documentary that explores the realities of menopause and encourages open discussion around a topic that impacts every woman but is often overlooked or misunderstood.
The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a pre-movie party and vendor fair, available with a $25 RSVP that includes food, a drink ticket, giveaways, and the opportunity to connect with local vendors. The movie screening at 7:00 p.m. and a panel discussion at 8:00 p.m. featuring McPherson Center for Health Rural Health Clinic providers are both free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to join for any portion of the evening.
"This event is about creating space for education and real conversations," said Carol Fickes, Chief of Provider and Clinic Operations. "Menopause affects women in many ways, yet it's not talked about enough. We want women to feel informed, supported, and empowered to ask questions." Following the film, providers will lead a panel discussion and open Q&A to address common concerns and encourage honest conversation around menopause and women's health. More information about the film can be found at www.themfactorfilm.com. For RSVP information, contact McPherson Center for Health at kaylam@mcphersonhospital.org.
