McPherson Center for Health Earns Forbes 5-Star Hospital Rating

MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Center for Health has earned a prestigious 5-star rating from Forbes, placing the local hospital among an elite group of just 253 facilities nationwide recognized for exceptional patient care. The recognition follows the hospital's recent 5-star designation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, reinforcing its status as one of Kansas's top-performing medical facilities. Forbes evaluated more than 2,500 general acute care hospitals across the country, rating them on outcomes, best practices, value and patient experience, with mortality and readmission rates heavily weighted in the scoring.

The honor comes during a period of significant growth for the McPherson facility, which has expanded its obstetrics services with five doctors now delivering babies and added new providers across multiple specialties. The hospital's emergency department ranks in the top 5% statewide for shortest wait times, while a recent Healthcare Foundation auction raised funds for new surgical equipment. These achievements highlight the hospital's commitment to providing advanced medical care locally, ensuring rural community residents can access high-quality treatment without traveling long distances to larger metropolitan areas.
