McPherson 7th Grade Volleyball Teams Split with Rose Hill
A Team suffers first loss of season while B Team continues growth with victory

The McPherson 7th grade volleyball teams experienced contrasting results Tuesday against Rose Hill Middle School, with the A Team falling in a thrilling three-set match 19-25, 25-12, 13-15, while the B Team secured an impressive victory. The A Team, now 7-1 on the season, struggled with illness and a depleted roster in their hard-fought loss to Rose Hill. Despite the setback, several players stepped into unfamiliar roles, with Leah Jackson delivering strong serving streaks and Cayson Harlin and Elin Schmidt anchoring the defense with consistent digs throughout all three sets.
Meanwhile, the B Team (5-3) showcased remarkable resilience and teamwork in defeating Rose Hill 25-15, 25-22, playing without their coach who was out sick. The squad demonstrated exceptional leadership and communication, with Kennedy Grant leading the charge with five ace serves and an incredible serving streak. Brooklyn Ide, Kayleigh Dilli, and Auri Perryman provided consistent passing throughout both sets. "It has been fun to watch this team grow and improve, and I am eager to see what else they can do for the second half of our season," said Coach Abby Bradstreet. Both teams will travel to Circle Middle School on Monday, September 22, for their next competition.
