The McPherson FC 16' Boys delivered a commanding 2-0 victory over Pumas Jr, combining stingy defense with clinical finishing in a performance that showcased their tactical discipline and teamwork.

Elijah Griggs provided the offensive spark with goals in both halves while also contributing defensively, splitting goalkeeper duties with George Bohman. Both keepers made four crucial saves each to preserve the clean sheet and limit Pumas Jr to fewer than 10 total shots.

The defensive foundation proved rock solid throughout the match, with Kale Emeneger, Miles Ide, and Kamden Fuqua rotating seamlessly at center back. Their press-and-cover system frustrated Pumas Jr's attack all game long, with excellent communication and positioning neutralizing scoring opportunities.

The wing play provided constant pressure and energy on both flanks. Anders Denniston and Kahne Hunt shared duties on the left wing, while Reed Dacus and Wendall Stucky anchored the right side. The quartet delivered crisp throw-ins and applied relentless pressure in all three thirds of the field, keeping Pumas Jr on their heels with their pace and intensity.

The victory highlighted the team's commitment to executing their practice preparation, with key tactical points emphasized during training translating effectively to match performance. The comprehensive team effort demonstrated the depth and cohesion that has made MCFC competitive throughout the season.

MCFC 16' Boys will face their biggest test yet when they take on the division-leading Derby Mambas next Saturday, September 20th at 5:20pm. A victory would improve their league record to 3-1 and potentially shake up the division standings.
