The MCFC 16' Boys soccer squad earned their first victory of the season in dramatic fashion, outlasting the Andover Adrenaline 5-4 in a back-and-forth battle that showcased both offensive firepower and defensive resilience. Miles Ide and Elijah Griggs led the scoring attack with two goals each, including a highlight-reel connection when Griggs slipped a perfect assist to Ide for a clinical finish. Kale Emeneger opened the scoring to give MCFC a well-rounded offensive display, with all five goals demonstrating the team's depth and versatility in the final third.

The match's turning point came through exceptional goalkeeping, as George Bohman and Elijah Griggs split time between the posts and combined for an impressive 15 saves—Bohman with 7 and Griggs with 8. The duo helped limit Andover to just one goal in the first half, though the Adrenaline mounted a fierce comeback with three second-half scores that made for a tense finish. Despite heavy legs and mounting pressure, MCFC showed tremendous character by digging deep to preserve the victory and celebrate their season breakthrough. The win improves their record to 1-1 as they prepare to face the Pumas Jr 16 next weekend on September 13th at 3:00 PM.
