Marshall highlights manufacturing, tax relief during central Kansas business tour
The senator stopped in Hutchinson, McPherson and Salina to meet with local employers and discuss federal policy impacts
MCPHERSON — U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall toured three central Kansas manufacturing facilities Tuesday to discuss workforce needs, domestic supply chains and the economic impact of recently enacted federal tax policies. The multicity swing brought the Republican to Hutchinson, McPherson and Salina, giving him an opportunity to hear directly from local employers about the everyday challenges of maintaining affordable production.
The tour began in Hutchinson at Arconic, a facility that produces specialized aluminum materials critical to commercial aircraft structures and defense applications. Marshall used the stop to highlight domestic manufacturing and underscore Kansas' growing role in supplying the national aviation and defense sectors.
In McPherson, Marshall visited Wald Family Foods, a family-owned manufacturer known for producing pizza crusts and specialty food products for nationwide distribution. Discussions there focused on the necessity of affordable energy prices and local benefits of proposed tax legislation that would eliminate federal income taxes on overtime pay and tips.

The trip concluded in Salina at Watts Manufacturing, a family-owned company that designs and builds custom wildland fire trucks, rescue vehicles and specialized firefighting equipment used by departments across the country. During the visit, Marshall and company leadership reviewed resources and services offered by the U.S. Commerce Department to help small, specialized businesses expand their national footprint.
