Manhattan Virtual Academy names K-State alumna as next principal

MANHATTAN, Kan. — A familiar face is taking the helm at Manhattan Virtual Academy, with current teacher Morgan Jobe set to step into the role of principal this summer and replace the retiring Brooke Blanck. Jobe, a Kansas State University alumna who has taught English language arts and family and consumer sciences at the virtual school since 2020, will officially assume her new administrative duties in July 2026. The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 Board of Education formally approved her contract on its April 15 consent agenda. Blanck is scheduled to retire in June 2026 after leading the program for the district.

Prior to joining the academy, Jobe taught English and AVID courses at Manhattan High School and Junction City High School. Her academic background includes a bachelor's degree in secondary education and a master's degree in curriculum, instruction and educational administration, both from K-State. Superintendent Eric Reid praised the academy as a special program for USD 383 and expressed confidence that Jobe will guide its future growth without losing its core culture. "This school community means so much to me, and I am excited to continue working alongside our incredible staff, students and families to build on the strong foundation already in place," Jobe said.
