Manhattan Indians Face Southeast in Key Playoff Matchup Friday Night
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for K-12 students, with ticket booths opening at 5:30 p.m.
The Manhattan High Indians will look to extend their dominance over Wichita Southeast when the two teams meet Friday at 7 p.m. at Bishop Stadium. Manhattan enters the contest with a perfect 3-0 record against Southeast in recent meetings, including a dominant 69-14 victory in their last matchup in October 2023. Both teams bring identical 7-2 records into the KSHSAA-sponsored playoff game, setting up what should be a defensive battle between two squads that have allowed just 13 and 14 points per game respectively this season.
The Indians are riding high after dismantling Garden City 47-15 in last Friday's playoff opener, a victory that marked their sixth consecutive win over the Buffaloes by double digits. Quarterback Finn Watson led a balanced offensive attack, rushing for 55 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes for 92 yards and another score. Running backs Kha'Mario Davis and EJ Massenburg added 104 and 66 rushing yards respectively, helping Manhattan rack up 357 total rushing yards—their highest output since November 2024.
Friday's game could be decided on the ground, as Manhattan has averaged 220.4 rushing yards per game this season while Southeast has been even more impressive at 270 yards per contest. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for K-12 students, with ticket booths opening at 5:30 p.m. No student activity passes or district badges will be accepted for this playoff contest.
