MANHATTAN, Kan. — Manhattan residents will notice work trucks and steam rising from manhole covers starting Monday, June 22, as the city kicks off its annual trenchless sewer repair project. The cured-in-place pipe lining — which rehabilitates aging infrastructure without excavating streets by installing a seamless resin tube inside existing lines — will be focused in the Amherst area, including E.J. Frick Drive, Notre Dame Circle, North Dartmouth Drive and Chic Circle, through Thursday. Crews will then shift the project to Allen Road, Prairie Lea Place and Prairie Glen Place on Friday.
