MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Manhattan High Indians extended their postseason dominance Friday night, overwhelming the previously undefeated Maize Eagles 55-31 in a commanding playoff performance. The victory marked the Indians' most explosive offensive showing of the season, with star player JJ Dunnigan leading the charge with an 83-yard kickoff return for touchdown and a 15-yard receiving score.

The win pushed Manhattan's record to 9-2 and extended their winning streak to five games, during which their defense has allowed just 10.4 points per contest. Maize's season ended after entering the game undefeated. Manhattan will now advance to face Derby at home in Class 6A Sub-State (semifinals) next Friday at 7 p.m., as the Indians continue their quest for a state championship.
