MANHATTAN, Kan. — Fifty-nine Manhattan High School students earned spots in the North Central Kansas Music Educators Association District Honor Ensemble, the school announced.

Students were selected for the orchestra, band and choir ensembles based on auditions.

The NCKMEA Orchestra includes 30 MHS students: violinists Gracen Dame, Solveig Chase, Kate Deaver, Wallace King, Daniel Kang, Nile Kelly-Kuwata, Alyssa Topham, Dawson Raw, Corbin Beale, Natalie Blanck, Katelynn Murdock, Maitland Wood, Jiyeon Kim, Enoch Wang, Leopold Kane and Emily Espinoza; violists Benjamin Huser, Lucas Manly, Jack Dunn and Joshua Soppe; cellists Samuel Byerly, Mira Gurgel, Jacquelin Hsu, Eleanor Grindle, Amy Keeley, Maci Topham, Jubilee Kelly-Kuwata and Solon Xia; and bassist William Gilligan.

The NCKMEA Band includes 13 students: flutists Agnes Choi and Jessica Kim; oboists Isabelle Maxwell, Audrey Morris and Helen Durrett; clarinetists Christopher Seo, Audrey Geering and Piper Schrag; bass clarinetist Jacob Wood; and trumpeters Aeden Gray, Zach McCaffrey, Jace Parsons and Becky Graysneck.

The NCKMEA Choir includes 16 students in the mixed choir: Graham Brueseke, Gracey Carter, Bahiyyih Grover, Corrine Harmon, Bryce Hutchinson, K'Veon King, Ezra Kohl, Sierra Larkin, Levi Malcom, Dezi Massengale, Micah Pape, Kinsley Payne, Jazmin Ramirez, Bladen Stone, Katelynn Sunnenberg and Jaxson Velasco.

The treble choir includes 16 students: Abbie Barrett, Grace Bravi, Ella Chase, Hayden Decker, Leah Rebekah Gotsch, Leah Herring, Tessa Kump, Ellis Lander, Mckenna Mallean, Katelyn Platz, Gracie Quinn, Alex Ruhl, Kentania Selby, Katelyn Shippy, Holly Tross and Alia Ulmer.
