Local Authors to Share Latest Works at Bluestem Communities
Free November 10 Event Features Lauren Friesen and Janice Pauls at Kidron Hall

NORTH NEWTON — Two local authors will showcase their recent literary works at the second Authors Speaking Series event hosted by Bluestem U lifelong learning program on Monday, November 10, at 10 a.m. The free public event will be held at Kidron Bethel Village's Kidron Hall, 3001 Ivy Dr.
Lauren Friesen, a retired theatre professor and Bluestem Communities resident, will discuss two of his latest theatrical projects: "The Anabaptists: A Comedy in Two Acts," his translation of Swiss playwright Friedrich Duerrenmatt's comedy, and "Acting Up: An Anthology of Mennonite Playwrights," which he both contributed to and edited. Fellow resident Janice Pauls will present her children's book "Dandelions are Beautiful," inspired by her son's childhood adventures growing up on their farm surrounded by pets and animals. Each presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience. For more information about Bluestem U's lifelong learning program, visit bluestemu.org. The next semester of classes begins in January 2026.
