Officials praised the collaborative effort of city staff to achieve fiscal responsibility while maintaining city services.
Budget Balancing Act: City Hall, Streets Projects Adjusted to Hold Line on Taxes
LINDSBORG – To achieve its revenue-neutral goal, the city made several key adjustments to the 2026 budget. According to the finance director, the changes included reducing the appropriation to the Old Mill by $10,000 in favor of a utility credit, decreasing the City Hall window replacement fund by $10,000 with plans to use historical tax credits to cover the difference, and reducing the streets capital outlay budget by $6,000. Additionally, $15,000 was shifted from the Streets Department to be split among the city’s enterprise funds for water, wastewater, and electric.
