Council approves $129K curb and gutter project on South Washington
LINDSBORG, Kan. — The Lindsborg City Council unanimously approved a $129,424.04 contract with Vogts Parga Construction, LLC to remove and replace the curb and gutter on the 200 through 400 blocks of South Washington Street. Public Works Director Denny Walker explained the city originally planned a mill and overlay for the street this year but opted to repair the deteriorating curb and gutter first to avoid damaging new pavement later. The accompanying street paving project will now be delayed until next year.
City purchases new air fill station for Lindsborg Fire Department
LINDSBORG, Kan. — The council unanimously authorized the $11,985.21 purchase of a new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) fill station for the Lindsborg Fire Department. Police Chief and Public Safety Director Terry Reed reported the current fill station, dating to 1987, is failing, underfilling 4,500-PSI air bottles to just 3,200 PSI and significantly reducing firefighters' air supply during emergencies. Because of the failing equipment, firefighters have been forced to travel to McPherson to fill their air tanks, cutting into critical response times.

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Mayor Clark Shultz announced the Lindsborg Swimming Pool is officially open for the summer season. During the regular mayor's report, Shultz noted he recently visited the facility to welcome the city's newly hired lifeguards, thanking recreation staff for their hard work in preparing the pool for the community.
