The newly adopted budget sets a revenue-neutral property tax mill levy at 48.977 mills — significantly lower than the county-calculated revenue-neutral rate of 53.325 mills — ensuring local property tax revenues remain stable without placing a heavier burden on Lindsborg homeowners. The approval followed a public hearing period that saw no comments from residents.

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Adjustments to the city's property tax rates resulted in a decrease in the required payout for the Stockholm Estates Rural Housing Incentive District. City finance staff reported that the city's property tax rebate to the housing development dropped from an estimated $95,000 to $82,000 based on the finalized 48.977 mill levy rate.

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Lindsborg's Streets Department will receive a new multi-purpose truck under the adopted 2027 budget. The vehicle, which will feature a spreader attachment, will be used primarily for mosquito spraying during the warmer months and will double as a small snowplow in the winter to clear residential streets that are too narrow for larger city plows.

City accepting applications to fill vacant city council seat

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Following the recent resignation of a Ward 4 council member, the city is seeking applicants to fill the vacant seat. Residents of Ward 4 interested in serving on the council must submit their resumes and letters of interest to City Clerk Roxie Sjögren by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 15. The city council plans to conduct a formal interview process before appointing a successor.
