Lawrence school board to review 2025-26 district goals, vote on athletic trainers contract
Agenda includes superintendent evaluation and Free State High School press box repairs
LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Lawrence Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday June 22 to review progress on 2025-26 district goals, examine community feedback shaping future priorities and vote on a three-year contract with Lawrence Memorial Hospital's OrthoKansas program to provide daily athletic trainers at district high schools, according to the meeting agenda.
The board will also hold a 45-minute executive session for Superintendent Jeanice Swift's quarterly evaluation and weigh several consent agenda items, including district property and liability insurance for 2026-27 and a change order for unforeseen structural repairs to the Free State High School press box.
Additional planned investments include Montessori furnishings for two new classrooms at New York Elementary, the renewal of OpenEye security camera monitoring software and the continuation of the AVID college readiness program.
