Lady Pups Win on Senior Night
McPherson pulls away in the fourth to defeat Mulvane 48-42
The McPherson Bullpups made Senior Night a memorable one Tuesday, closing out their home schedule with a 48-42 victory over the Mulvane Wildcats and improving to 12-10 on the season with one game remaining.
McPherson jumped out to a 14-8 lead after the first quarter and led by as many as 10 early before Mulvane battled back to take a 3-point lead in the second quarter. The game was tied three times and the lead changed hands six times before the Bullpups pulled away with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 13-8 down the stretch to secure the win.
Brooke Doile led all scorers with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, adding 7 rebounds. Piper Alvord contributed 11 points, going a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range. Rylie Whitfield chipped in 9 points and Maryn Sandbo added 8 points and 5 assists. Karlie Cooper rounded out the scoring with 6 points off the bench.
For Mulvane, Brittani Peschel led the Wildcats with 12 points and 6 assists, while Juliana Holman added 9 points.
