1. Massive Drug Bust Nets $4M on I-70
Law enforcement seized over 3,200 pounds of marijuana and 260 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $4 million during a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near mile marker 302 in Geary County on June 2. The bust occurred during a two-day enforcement operation when deputies stopped a commercial truck for minor violations and a K9 unit detected the hidden drugs in the trailer, marking one of the county's largest drug seizures in years.

2. Western Kansas Fuel Shortage Easing After Months of Disruption
Multiple factors including maintenance issues and logistical challenges created fuel shortages across western Kansas and three neighboring states, forcing distributors to travel hundreds of miles to Oklahoma and eastern Kansas terminals for supplies. The crisis, which began in March and left the Scott City terminal empty for nearly two months, prompted federal emergency declarations to lift trucking hour restrictions, though experts say it could take months for fuel storage capacity to fully recover.
