Clinics Try Paying Patients to Beat Meth Addiction
With no medications available to treat methamphetamine addiction like those used for opioids, a growing number of clinics are turning to cash incentives to help patients stay clean. The approach offers patients modest rewards like store vouchers or debit card cash for negative drug tests, with cumulative rewards reaching nearly $600 over three-to-six month programs based on positive reinforcement principles.
