Kinnamon Reaches 600th Win as McPherson Head Coach
Historic milestone accompanies Bullpups' dominant second-half performance
McPherson head coach Kurt Kinnamon earned his 600th career victory as the bullpup head coach, 625th win overall. Bullpups boys basketball team defeated the Winfield Vikings 71-55 Monday night in the Roundhouse, evening their season record at 5-5.
The milestone win came after McPherson overcame an early deficit, trailing by as many as six points in the second quarter. The Bullpups found their rhythm in the second half, shooting an impressive 65.4% from the field in the final two quarters to pull away for the 16-point victory.
Jett Pyle led all scorers with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting, while Eli Reasoner added 19 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double. Ashton Malm contributed 13 points and 5 assists. For Winfield, Evan Hutto poured in a game-high 27 points, and Le'Gend Cyrus-Riley added 13 points.
The Bullpups will return to action Saturday when they host Circle for Wall of Fame Night in the Roundhouse.
