Kansas State University promotes 74 faculty members ahead of new academic year
The wave of advancements includes 30 educators securing tenure as the institution focuses on long-term enrollment goals.
MANHATTAN — Kansas State University is rewarding 74 of its educators with advanced academic ranks and securing the long-term careers of 30 faculty members who will receive tenure next month. The career advancements, which take effect at the start of the university's new fiscal year on July 1, will elevate 36 educators to the rank of full professor and grant 29 others the title of associate professor with tenure. One additional faculty member will receive tenure at their current rank. The sweeping promotions are designed to cement a core group of proven researchers and instructors who will directly shape the institution's curriculum and long-term academic impact.
Jesse Perez Mendez, the university's provost and executive vice president, announced the academic advancements as part of a broader administrative push to ensure quality teaching and continuous innovation. Retaining experienced educators through tenure and rank promotions plays a critical role in the "Next-Gen K-State" strategic plan championed by President Richard Linton, an initiative aiming to expand the university's enrollment to 30,000 learners by 2030. By rewarding these 74 faculty members, university leaders hope to maintain rigorous academic standards and provide the instructional stability needed to support the campus's projected growth.
