HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas State Fair has been awarded a $99,000 Attraction Development Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce to fund preservation of Ye Old Mill, one of the fairgrounds' most historic attractions. Bridgette Jobe, director of the Kansas Tourism Division, presented the grant at the fairgrounds Tuesday, marking the official launch of the Ye Old Mill Preservation & Renewal Campaign.

Opened in 1915, Ye Old Mill is one of only three Old Mill-style attractions still operating in the United States. The statewide campaign invites individuals, families and businesses to contribute to the restoration effort through the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation.
