Kansas Event to Connect Non-Operating Women Landowners with Conservation Resources
MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Ottawa County Kansas Conservation District will host an in-person event May 12 in Manhattan for non-operating women landowners interested in learning more about working with tenants to install conservation practices on their land, followed by three virtual gatherings through June.
The in-person session is limited to approximately 20 participants to keep the gatherings conversational rather than lecture-based.
"These are not lectures but conversations and a different approach than we typically use when working with producers every day," organizers said.
Three virtual follow-up sessions will be held to continue learning and build camaraderie among participants. Attendees are encouraged to attend at least two. The virtual schedule is as follows: May 29, Creating Conservation Plans; June 12, Land Succession Planning; and June 26, Incentives and Cost-Share Resources. All virtual sessions run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT.
