JV Girls Tennis Bullpups Win League Title

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson JV girls tennis team swept all four divisions Saturday to win the AVCTL JV League tournament with 70 points, finishing ahead of Wellington (56), Wichita Collegiate (51) and five other schools. Ava Miller and Gwen Prieb each went 3-0 to claim first place in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while the doubles teams of Audra Sandbo/Sadie Krug and Brenna Sullivan/Emily Reno also went 3-0 to sweep the doubles titles — with Sandbo and Krug claiming back-to-back JV doubles league championships. Notably, freshman Prieb finished the JV season with a 17-0 record, and Miller rallied from a 1-6 deficit to win her championship match 8-6, capturing the JV League singles title for the second consecutive year.
