The McPherson 2nd grade Lady Pups made their tournament debut this weekend at the MAYB Wichita Shootout, and they made it count. The young Bullpups went 2-1 on the weekend to bring home a 3rd place finish in their very first tournament experience.

In Game 1, the Lady Pups came out firing, rolling past Next Level Athletes 19-4. Tenley Fawl and Madi King each paced the team with 6 points, while Tenley Williams chipped in 4, Lauren Sherwood added 2, and Preslee Grant rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

Game 2 saw the Lady Pups fall to the Dolphins 14-7 in their only loss of the weekend. Tenley Fawl led the way with 5 points and Emmy Dohrman contributed 2.

The girls bounced back in a big way in Game 3, closing out the tournament with a dominant 22-4 victory over the Hawks to secure 3rd place. Five players reached the scoring column with 4 points each — Emmy Dohrman, Preslee Grant, Tenley Fawl, Madi King, and Lindsay Demel — while Landri Jusko added 2.

Coach Treg Fawl couldn't have been more pleased with how the team performed. "What a great experience for these girls," Fawl said. "They competed extremely hard all three games. They locked in on defense, shared the ball beautifully, and love being teammates."

The Lady Pups aren't done yet. They have one more league game next Saturday in Hutchinson with a chance to finish the league season a perfect 7-0 and claim the league title.
