Hutchinson's July Third Thursday to feature 'Arts & Eats'

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Downtown Hutchinson will host its monthly Third Thursday celebration on July 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring the popular "Arts & Eats" theme that combines local artists, live music and food vendors.
The free community event will take place throughout downtown, with activities centered around Main Street and Avenue A Park. Third Thursday is a monthly celebration of local art, music and community that attracts all ages, according to Hutch Rec, which organizes the event.
July's event will feature live musical performances by 620 in the Mix, Sol Fire, Meaningful Music with Key McCarthy, Ryan Brooks, Shadow Music, Kathrine Collins, Trey Deviney and Silas Nowlan.
More than 20 local artists will display and sell their work, including ThatArtistLounge, Ash Anez, Jess Baugh, Ghost Cat Arts & Craft, Irene's Strings & Strands, Patricia Adams, Kellie Dillinger, Wonderland Photography, From the Ash, Chris Swan Stained Glass Artist, Macabre Heart, SilentDraws, Jen Pettay Art, April's Treasures, Rebecca Nininger, Kali's Kreations, Time Honored Enterprises, Kansas Author's Club, Tyler's from Milestone, F&A Creators, Tamela Price Art, Amanda L. Wright Photography, Jenjo's Art Alley, Molly Foster Photography and Texas Hippie Chick.
The event will include interactive activities such as chalk art with Kara Vaughn, motorcycle photo opportunities with Black Sabbath Motor Cycle Club, live animal encounters with the Hutchinson Zoo, touch-a-truck with Reno County EMS, face painting with Narcotics Anonymous, show and tell props by Freemason's, Civil Rights Arts education and photo opportunities with NAACP, health information from Prairie Star Health Center, coloring pages from Oxford House, make-and-take projects by Board & Brush, positivity pollinator yard sign displays by Magic Makers, and inflatable activities sponsored by Envista Credit Union.
Food options will include trucks from Sugar Dealer, Squeeze the Day, Noble House Hawaiian, The Burger Depot, Papa D's Tasty Treats, Uncle Ken's Ice Cream, Giuseppe's Sandwiches and Hutch Shaved Ice.
Local businesses and organizations will operate booths throughout the event, including This N That Thrift, Goodwill, Genesis Health Clubs, The Alley, Wildflower Boutique, Woodman LLC, Cotton & Birch, Fat Cat Company, Anima Bella Salon, Startup Hutch, Deb Z Crafts, Supernova Design Co., Xpress Wellness, A&M Permanent Jewels, Hutch Cycle Sports, Salt City Freshies, and The Fizz Bar.
The monthly Third Thursday events are held on the third Thursday of each month throughout the year, with each event featuring a different theme and focus. Booth space is free for nonprofits and downtown businesses, while other vendors pay a $30 booth fee.
